In NC, you have certain rights if the problems are reported in the first year after completion of the house. You also can bring certain claims in the first three years.
We are seeing construction situations where the general contractor has lost his license in the past, but is still building. We also see many contractors that do not carry insurance to cover negligent construction. This type of coverage is not mandatory in North Carolina.
